Prototype Office Building

This 3 story office building is designed to be adaptable to various sites and user requirements. Design principles include authentic expression of structure and materials, balance of mass and void, harmony of light and dark, and the juxtaposition of both course and refined construction materials. A pile of rocks rooted in Earth and connected to Sky.

This project is based on a design originally developed during my graduate studies at The University of Florida. The building features contrasting geometrical forms, balance of mass and void, natural lighting, and authentic expression of materials.

Landmark Beach House

Currently in the design development phase of production, this will be a beachfront vacation rental house and without doubt a local landmark in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.  This structure will be designed to survive 200mph winds, and will be constructed of ICF systems. (Insulated Concrete Form)

I designed this building for a design competition.  This is an asylum for the oppressed and persecuted LGBT youth in Uganda.  Design principles include authentic expression of structure and materials, balance of mass and void, harmony of light and dark, and the juxtaposition of both course and refined construction materials.

The owner intends to repeat this design at several locations in Northeast Florida.

Duval Station

This commercial project is currently in design development, and will be constructed as a prototype for future projects in  Northeast Florida.  This design is my original take on what appears to be a new emerging style in retail construction, some examples of which lack architectural authenticity and coherence. This development will include copies of my office buildings previously designed for the owner.

Visual Custom FX Auto

Previously a Buick dealership in Green Cove Springs, Florida, this is the new home of Visual FX Paint and Auto Body, a high-end paint and body shop.  Existing buildings were used entirely, except for demolition of a few interior walls. What was a bit of an eyesore is now an attractive group of buildings and a welcomed addition to the Clay County skyline.

Panama Commercial Center

Panama City Beach Commercial Center                                          It appears that this design will remain un-built, for now.  Due to the needs of prospective future tenants, the owner opted for an alternative design.  The original design features the innovative use of various types of Concrete Masonry Units, exposed steel beams, and naturally finished aluminum glazing systems.

Located in the Palencia development in St. Augustine, Florida, this 14,000 sq. ft. retail center is constructed of Concrete Masonry Units, stucco, and steel roof framing. The design is based on photographs taken by the client, of a similar retail center in South Florida.

Atypical Architect's Home

The original design features the innovative use of various types of Concrete Masonry Units, exposed steel beams, and naturally finished aluminum glazing systems. Conceptually, the house is a Bridge between Man and Nature. Situated between a river and a wetland, the structure rises above the flood-prone site.

The design is based on photographs taken by the owner of a similar office building in South Florida. The owner intends to repeat this design at several locations in Northeast Florida.

Beaches Medical Pavilion

Two story medical office building in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Tenants include a diagnostic imaging center and eye care practice on the first floor, and an ambulatory surgical center on the second floor.

The Mediterranean style of the building is culturally significant to the client, and visually compatible with much of the local architecture.
